Microsoft has confirmed to MCV that Kinect will run off a car battery and will work for 20 minutes on a single charge.

Your inability to read an entire thread?

Its always the same few people trying to push people away from Kinect. I guess it has a certain camp scared to death and the only thing they know to do is to try and make it look bad. 1 ounce of bad news from the Kinect side and its all but shot to death from the same posters with 4-6 posts on the same subject. HA HA HA ha ha.....
Kinect is doomed to sell well no matter what kind of stuff people says about it. It has to much hype and there are a lot of people giving it free advertising. I think I will do a wait and see approach myself. I do plan on getting Kinect but I won't run out first day and get it. (will probably be sold out anyways).

Next up, the only way to get Kinect to work safely is to attach it to the head of a shark, or a guy in a shark mascot costume, or it shoots lasers and kills your pets. Word is that Dr. Evil cancelled the preorder because apparently can't be attached to sharks and shoot lasers. It is apparently a flaw that is related to the use of couches with Kinect.
locking: for starters this is a duplicate thread (really don't care which was first)
second, this is a rumor considering microsoft is denying it.
