imo i think V will be amazing, however i agree competition is so high coming up to the final quarter, theres no way a new IP can compete on the same level as Medal of Honor etc...
i think it will sell well in Japan maybe about 0.5-1mil, and i think it could be about 0.5mil in US and EA. and i dont think theres any other really good PS3 TPS, seeing as Gears is exclusive to MS. so its got a good advantage on PS3 at the moment imo. as long as theres some well placed marketing from Sega, seeing as a lot of the ppl i know dont know anything about it.
and i think it will be longer than 10 hours, its a shooter so i would expect multiplayer, which could change the game completely and lead to a supprise hit!!

I think they said there won't be multiplayer in this game because they wanted to focus on Single player and Story... or something like that.
And I think the game will be around 10-15 hours long... and It will have many different modes...
I think you should expect about the same length and replay value Bayonetta has... I mean... I played Devil May Cry 3 for over 99:59:59 hours (I don't know the exact time because my save file would show that number... but I think I've played it for like 300 hours)... If the "God Hard" mode (hardest mode in the game) is simillar to DMC3 Dante Must Die mode in difficulty, I'll play it as much as DMC3 :P
I just hope Save files aren't copy-protected in this one... that's the only reason I didn't buy Bayonetta :S I don't want to spend hundreds of hours playing a game only to lose everything if my PS3 dies >_< I want to be able to back up my Save files >_<

Lol, yeah i actully got really upset about that, i lost my amazing Bayonetta data when PS3 had that whole date crash thing, but i suppose i platinumed it so it wasnt a total failure, but still. Bayonetta is the best action game imo, surpasses DMC3 & 4 imo. Vanquish will do the same with the single player and replay value - no doubt about that, and i'm sorry to say that i think it will be copy-protected, they're the same company, but you should still get it.
i can understand why they would want to focus on single player and story, but i think we'll still get multiplayer. Platinum Games' developers tried to implement online features into Bayonetta with leaderboards, and i'm sure Japanese developers are aware of the popularity of multiplayer in the west. imo multiplayer is the key, if they nail that the game has the potential to become a huge hit in the west.
EDIT: lol, it appears you were right no multiplayer. i'm not a big multiplayer fan, but imo it wouldve worked really well with this game, and i'm sure i woulve enjoyed it. so yeah based on that the sales are less likely to become as successful as something like Gears. not because it wont be as good but because, a lot of ppl play shooters for the multiplayer component, no matter how engrossing the single player is!!
