Struck a nerve? "you would do well in not being presumptuous." lol if it struck a nerve I would be upset and angry or something. My answer was from a point of view of giving my opinion on your remark. Even now you say you were backed up by some 'data', and what data would that be? Please do share, would love to have a good discussion on it and bitter and upset? you? It was a statement made in general but if the hat fits, by all means, wear it. you would do well in not being presumptuous, again. Anywho yeah it was all in fun, no nerves were hit at all. I just found the whole thing to be rather amusing. If not I wouldn't type such long answers since I don't like long answers (too lazy) |

Of course, most will point out PS3 having a sub 300k lead over total lifetime sales vs. the Xbox 360. Yes, it is right to say both the PS3 and Xbox 360 have done equally well, with one doing marginally better than the other.
However, a 200k plus lead in hardware translates over into software. If we assume each of those PS3 buyers buys at least 2 games a year, then software sales for the PS3 will be much higher than for the Xbox 360 as evidenced in the Yearly and Total software titles.
The small difference in Total Software sales between the 360 and PS3 can be explained rather easily. At some point early on the Xbox 360 led in Hardware sales meaning more Software sales. As the PS3 has gained momentum and eclipsed the 360, naturally the higher Hardware Totals led to higher Yearly Software sales. The negligible difference in the Total Software is due to the 360 coming out earlier and taking an earlier lead before the PS3 took over.
I can't find anything to argue over.
