Not cancelled? Well, I suppose it wouldn't be, since you cannot really cancel something that was never announced for release in the first place.

The 360 version is actually quite far into development. It was halted then started agian then halted again.

Official sources from either MS or Square? I never heard anything like that.

Read the OP.  The game originally started as a 360/Vista project codenamed "Requiem" too, pretty easy to google sources for that.

Resumes leaked existence of a 360 version being well into development too.  It went way farther than just talks, at least it did at one point.

Ive read the OP and theres nothing related to that, I dont quite understand why you tell me to read it. Beside, I wasnt able to find any information on project "Requiem", let alone one that would come from either MS or square. To my knowledge the first time FF 14 was announce (E3) it wasnt announce on 360. It always been the same speech from square enix since then, that they are looking with MS.

Now, I would be glad to learn more, can you point me to the sources of information you and selnor have? Also, if its a resumee "worked on project "requiem" for 360/vista", I would like to know what makes assume its FF14. Even if it doesnt come from square or MS themselves im open as long at it makes enough sense.

Sorry, it actually called "Rapture", not "Requiem". :/

Here's a link to the FFXIV 360 resume leak.

that is the wrong link

we are talking abt the PC/360 link not PC,360,PS3 link

Xbox Live Silver is free and that is all you need to play an MMO.

no its not,

FF11 was just passed by MS because they wanted to get closer to SE

now that they have gotten FF13,they are not compromising again

Well i can only think of two MMOs on the 360 (PSO & FFXI). And neither of them require a Gold account.

I read in Japan you a get a free month of Gold with a paid month of MHFO. But I'm not really sure if that's true.

OK. SolidSnake is very very wrong.

The reason why SE is halting at the moment. Is M$ not allowing Live users to play on servers with PS3 users.

It has nothing to do with 2 fees.

PSU does not require gold. FF11 does not require gold and niether does MHO.

And I'll point out again.

Why would M$ change their server rule when FF11 sold so poorly on both the PS2 and 360. Both of these platforms were really poor. The 360 actually outselling the PS2 in less time.

If I was M$ I would continue to hold fast. 200,000 sales lifetime is not enough to change policy.

Meh, If I were to get this game, I'd most likely choose ps3 version anyway, Dont want to pay for 2 subscriptions :-|

None of the 3 MMO's require GOLD!

Where the hell does this BS come from on this site.

i didn't say MS didn't care

its just that now they don't need anything like FF13 from MS so they are not ready to compromise

MS would be happy to get this game but will not take out its GOld fee

You keep saying that but we have no reason to believe it.

I remember BBC sayiing they don't want to do a service for the 360 because MS would require users have a Gold account. So if that was the case I think Square would have said so already.

what the hell do you think they mean by a 'closed' service

FF14 will only come when MS agree to pass FF14

Um closed service means no PS3 players interacting with 360 players.

LOL.

It might not be a requirement to have a gold account, but I would have thought the vast majority of people who use their 360 for online would be gold subscribers, so in reality wouldn't most people be paying twice?

While I agree that the reason you state make sense I dont understand why you think sales figure of FFXI will reflect the FFXIV one. At the time, it require an harddrive and network adapter add-on on PS2 (in a time where almost no one was using internet on) and was release several years later on 360 (it was already an old game by that time). FFXIV based on current PS3 pre-order and the problem I stated will probably eclipse the LFT PS2 and 360 sale combine in his first week. For the rest, I think your opinion make sense.

SURE that could be

like for example i don't use online that much and am not usually interested in an mmo

but the like of FF14 and old republic are getting people exited even though many people excited

so when you are getting full userbase on the other two platforms, this one would be a bit restrictive

yeah and they would like losing a good game

and more big games not having to use GOLD by your point, wouldn't all the other games want to access it free like mmo's

and one of the biggie titles would be COD and all those rumours about their premium own service might come tru.

right,got it

and cause MS is trying to enter japan

thats cause FF11 was already an old game,FF13 was coming up and this would be a good way to get near SE

If I was M$ I would continue to hold fast. 200,000 sales lifetime is not enough to change policy.

thats why MS compromised for MHFO,good theory
