Now downloading those 50GB games...lol

But still PS3 held out for a long time!

How many games actually fill 50GB?

There are lots under 10GB.

I still believe it is fake.   And for any who plan on utilizing this for piracy if its real,  I hope your PS3 gets YLOD!!!

So presumably you need the disc first to make a back-up of it?

Yes, but torrents of PS3 games will most likely start to pop up soon if this thing ends up being a success. People won't even need a blu-ray burner, just transfer it to an external HDD.

Anyways I guess one could just rent games and be done with it for now.

As I said in the other thread about this (this is the third fucking thread on this topic), that would require a 50GB upload, followed by a 50GB download, and either a blu-ray burner or a rather large external HDD. A pretty massive internal PS3 HDD, too.

As far as I know, not a single PS3 game has been close to 50gb in size. The closet I know of was MGS4, and that was just 32gb. Most PS3 titles fall somewhere in the 10-20gb range.

So I don't see how size is going to deter anyone who wants to get a game for free, especially when there are plenty of people downloading full bluray rips of 50gb movies.

Most Blu-ray movies are on Single Layer 25GB Blu-ray discs.

Wasnt LBP up around 40GB?

And why do you believe its a fake?

OZmodchips has been selling modchips for years, and a fake video would destroy their reputation and business. Additionally it seems to be based on the SDK leak that came out a while back, which has lead to some very similar hacks for developer units.

Are you just making stats up?

After quickly checking a torrent site 7 of the  24 bds were under 25gb. The rest were around 40gb or so... and with plenty of seeders.

The  size of PS3 games will do little to prevent piracy.

No I am going by my collection of over 220 Blu-ray movies

From OzModChips FAQ:

Q. Can Sony block this with firmware updates?

A. Probably. The have have the USb dongle firmware upgradable, but you can never predict the future. This is made to work with 3.41. If you happen to download an install an update which is higher then this then it is your doing. We will not accept stock back as "faulty" if you have upgraded your firmware
