Hopefully Rare have something Banjo relanted in production behind closed doors. That and a new Killer Instinct will be the best way they can redeem themselves to all their fans.

Think your confusing the current Rare, the company that has a future developing shovel-ware for Kinect, with the old Rare that made good games that everyone wishes would come back from the dead

Yeah I know it is wishfull thinking on my part but we can all dream can't we.

Think your best hope is that the guys who founded Rare (cant remember their names) form a new company and manage to gather together some decent staff and start off all over again. Might not get you Banjo or Killer Instinct but could get you some new IPs that are on par with them.

I think the two guys that founded Rare were Tim and Chris Stamper though i have no idea what they are both up to now.

Honestly I remember Rare hinting before E3 about a new title. I was so excited and the email given on the site was like Banjo@Rare or something like that. I remember everyone thinking Rare had another Banjo title in the works. Then E3 happens and Kinect Sports is revealed to be Rare's big announcement, arrg I was so dissapointed and pissed off.

Will Rare ever make a good platformer again? Banjo , Conker? I hope so but given the studio's current capabilities a decent showing is unlikely. Since Microsoft lost the Stamper Brothers and most of the studio's master minds they need fresh blood get some new people and build on the existing AAA IP's!

Yes and it was awful. I mean it would have been alright had it been a new IP. But using Banjo's IP was just wrong the game didn't feel at all like Banjo. Rare screwed the IP up big time with that junk, even they knew it was bad when they launched it at a budget price!

One of the key staff involved in Goldeneye founded his own team called Zoonami, they made a game called Bonsai Barber.  It was better than anything Rare has created since Starfox Adventures

I was actually just thinking of this today at school (olol wandering mind thinks about Banjo... I'm so cool. ).

I thought to myself "Hey Smeags, it's been a long time since I've had a Banjo-esque experience. I mean, I replayed through Banjo-Kazooie last year... but I can't just keep replaying those two awesome games over and over! I need something fresh, something new! What's going to be my Banjo-Kazooie of this generation?"

Then I thought, "Maybe Epic Mickey can be that non-Nintendo-yet-Nintendoish-Platformer that'll rock my socks off!". Bah, it just shows how distant I've grown from Rare over the past two gens. I've given up on RareWare, I feel so bad!

Make an awesome platformer RareWare! Turn me back to the Rare-lovin' side again!*

*Actually, I've never played Kameo... I've heard mixed reviews, but I want to give it a try. Good idea?

EDIT: And yes, give us Conker. Bad Fur Day for the N64 was sooo good.

Kameo isn't very good, I played it for like an hour before the transformation novelty and the boring puzzles started rubbing me the wrong way. Nut's & Bolts is a much better game and if your looking for a platformer fix, then I recommend Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time (It's the best in the series and the most platformery). Otherwise look out for the Sly Collection, those three games are meant to be really good.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
