PSPgo  is $199 on amazon

They need to advertise that if they can. I use mine at work for music and there is always one person that asks me "what is that?" when I tell them it's psp they said they didn't know there was a new one (they knew about the other model).

why would they^? they are making zero dollars on software sales due to massive piracy, psp sales are the only thing that´s generating some profit for them and they spent several millions on psp exclusives that wont sell shyte in the west (God of war, mgs5, birth by sleep, etc). so a price cut means bye bye psp and the psp 2 is not ready yet or hopefully it won´t happen.

they sold more than half a million software last week.. so idk what you mean about making $0 on psp software.. in fact it's up YTD software wise

they are spendnig way more money on sofware development.

yes, the 250 price tag is keeping people away from a great piece of hardware.

What software development? Ghost of Sparta is like the only big game Sony are releasing for the PSP this year. PSP games also average out at about $300,000 for development costs. At this point in time the PSP probably cost's nothing to manufacture and Sony are still selling 80k a week. The PSP is probably extremely profitable at the moment and Sony will probably stretch it's lifespan as far as it can (like the PS2) until it's not worth it any more.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I was just at walmart and saw the PSP-Go for 199.00...Maybe they secretly did a price cut already?

Still way too expensive...

Let's be serious DSi is 170$ and psp is much better piece of hardware.  It's not the price that stops psp sales but lack of recognition for how many good games there are.

pretty much the only things keeping me mildly interested in buying a PSP are Tactics Ogre and The 3rd Birthday. I'm even seriously wondering what a PSP successor could hope to do against the 3DS as there's no point in touting "OOOH, better graphics!" against it (tried that against the DS and it failed)

PSP phone probably - making it BC with psp , reduce all the rediculus pricing on psn store to 5-20$ range add accelerometer, touch screen etc and give trophies to games on it. Basically something like smartphone with buttons.

Hopefully i want a Go so badly.
