Look up the manditory HDMI 1.4 spec for gaming on these new TVs. Its locked at 720p frame packing 3D. Even using a PC its locked to 720p...which is sad as I can push 1080p 3D gaming using my PC.

i have seen many companies claim 1080p and 1080p is surely possible on blueray 3D too

even if it isn't that sad as the PC has smaller screen  and 108p deserves a big screen unless you have one

There was a very long thread discussing this few weeks ago. Basically the new TVs don't have fast enough HDMi chips...297mhz is needed and the fastest ones are 225mhz today. Therefore they blocked off the 1080p 3D fucntion.

the 1080p 3D can be done at 200hz and easily on 240hz.

Just take Diso's word for it.  I do not want to do the math again....

The internal hz of the TV does not matter at all on whether it can do 1080p 3D or not.  The HDMI port is the key.  The port can physically accept the bandwi of a 1080P signal (and throughput, I did the math on both of these) but it is a limitation that SONY and the HDMI council put on HDMI 1.4.  Does not matter if it theoretically CAN support it or not, when it is not considered an accepted format.

the internal hz of the tv matters alot

yeah its another what limitations have been set but if PS3 is cpable then it should be doing it

and  SONY have declared clu-ray 1080p 3D movies and SONY is a part of HDMI

Yep. 1080P movies@24fps.  You cannot play games at that frame rate (talk about jumpy).  That is the ONLY 1080p signal that is accepted, period.

i know it is hard at that framrate

but many games are there at that level, heack a fast paced hack and slash game like GOD of WAR runs at that rate

lol, thanks SSenkahdavic.

@Solid_Snake4RD

1080p 3D is possible for bluray because its running at 24 hz. Gaming needs to run at 60 hz and as SSenkahdavic stated, 1st gen HDMi 1.4 3D TVs have that format locked out.

These now 3D TVs are like having a car whose engine is producing 500 horsepower, but ony 350 are used to spin the back wheels lol...

you said even 1080 3d bluray's aren't

and then you change your word which makes it hard to believe your word in the first placed

alrite jst end it now

No I didn't...which post says that?

Yers, for gaming... If you look at the first line I posted in my first post about this ou will see that I said:

"1. But PS3 CAN'T do 1080p for 3D gaming...only bluray movies supports 1080p."

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=3575752

In any case, you really need to read up on some 3D things. You know some aspects but are completely in the dark about others.

120-240 hz pannel has no impact on TV being able to do 3D. There are 120 hz TVs in 2007 and 240 hz tVs in 2009 which are not 3D compatible.

It has to do with input bandwith. HDMI chips on the mass market today can NOT accept 1080p @ 60 hz bandwith.  Even for my 3D monitor this is true as the monitor has to use dual link DVI port. The TV can have 1000 hz(which exists btw), if the HDMi chip can't send the proper bandwith...you have no 1080p 3D.
