$35m for the weekend - pretty good.  Close to what I had hoped for.  Hope it has legs.

Mindless action flicks - like the ones from the 80s - great fun movies.

did you see it? If yes, what did you think of it?

Around the Network

I haven't seen it yet cause my son was ordered to stay in bed for three days - he has a slipped disc.  I promised him that I would take him.  I think the movie will be a great father-son time.  I will see it tomorrow for sure.

No doubt in my mind that i will love it. Tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get to see it either... IT was sold out on Friday when we went so we saw The Other guys.

I'll see it on Tuesday for cheap night.

A mindless action movie is always welcome, as long as it knows its a mindless action movie. They do't make them like this very often anymore. Action movies where stars have charisma, lots of explosions, funny one liners, and ass kicking...

These days all action movies try to have more pseudo-intellectual banter than ass kicking... :)

I agree with you 100%.  That's why I want to share this movie with my son who is 14.  I want him to enjoy a movie without all that psedo-intellectual bs.

I watched Gran Torino with my son for the same reason - show him some manhood!

I was going to watch it last week, but everyone I know seems to be busy these days and I really really want to watch this with some friends beside me so it'll have to wait, but I am going to watch it. I don't expect its to be spectacualr or anything, just enjoy some mindless actions with mates, remember good old days when we're still happy kids and have some good laugh.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Jeez. Replies never work.

Saw it for $4 at my local theater on Sunday. It really wasn't as good as I was hoping. Action scenes were good, but not great due to bad camera work (IMO). Hand to hand combat was A material, though. Absolutely no story to speak of, which was bad. Stallone did a better job with Rambo IV, IMO.

Still, it was good for an action movie, but not the best I've seen, honestly. Does it hearken back to the days of blockbuster action movies? Eh. I think they had better story lines than this. But the action is certainly up there.

Really looking forward to Machete though.

Not going to lie...Saw it and I didn't think it was very good. Stalone cant direct for shit. Stop shaking that camera for christs sake.

Dolph Lundgren and Jet Li stuff was fun to watch but thats about it. Nothing else had any 80s chemistry, or was any good on todays terms...

Story was non existant but thats fine if its fun to watch, but movie just wasn't fun to watch. It needed a funny bad guy who gets pissed a lot when things dont go as planned...

I have seen better Van Damme straight to video movies than this... Universal Soldier:Regeneration and Wake of Death come to mind.

I liked it and I'm going to get the DVD. I thought Stalone and Jason statham were the best part's of the movie. Stalone is'nt the only one that direct's like that. Ridley and Tony scot come to mine. I happen to like that style. Dolph Lundgren and Jet Li were the weakest character's in the movie. Jet Li was way under used in my opinion. lol
