Forums - Gaming - a game close to your heart

the title says it all, your free to talk about a game close to your heart and possibly share it with other gamers so they can feel what you felt experiencing that game., it may not be the first game you played, it may not be the best game you played, but just a game that you adore, and a game that you will never forget. it can be any game, from a commercial success, to a commercial failure, heck it may even have a 10 on metacritic.

well im going to talk about psychonauts, its a game made by time shafer and i think it was published by dubble fine in 2004, at first it came out on pc and on the xbox and then it got ported to the ps2 because of its mediocre sales even though it was an AAA title. basically i played it when i was 10 on my ps2, it was the first game which i truly enjoyed for the story, for the innovation and one of the first games which i was good at. at that time i only played sports game like fifa, i had a medal of honor game, and the rest of my collection had to do with eye toy and buzz games.

the game is close to my heart because it was such a unique game, for the first time i felt an emotional bond beetween me and the characters, the game had everything platforming, fighting, puzzles, a good story, character development  it also had hilarious and very well made characters. also it was incredibly fun, i got stuck at a level 7 hours into the game, so i decided to restart, i didnt realise it at first but i was enjoying the game more on my 2nd playthrough then on my first. but most importantly that single game started my passion for gaming.

unfortunately one day i was stuck at one of the last levels, and then the disc stopped working, all my save data was erased and the game didnt work anymore. now the game got released on steam and xbl, and hopefully it will come to psn. and all you guys should try it out, it is that great of a game.

now if you dont know what im talking about heres the review of gamespot.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Some Final Fantasies like X or XII. Few games can give me a sense of "wow" like these two do. The feeling of place is perfect, and everything is just epic.

I'd say Dark Cloud 2. Everything about the game is charming. Whether it's the graphics or the music or the characters or the settings or the story, it all fits together.

It's more of an action game than a RPG unlike what most people think.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The lost age. Incredible games, equally awesome charactors, good graphics/animation on the GBA and the game that more or less introduced me to RPG's.

I intend on pre-ordering the next installment quite soon!

Zelda Wind Waker for me.  I was 10 when I got in on launch day and have played it several times through.   It even comes with OoT/Master Quest which is awesome and to this day is my favourite Zelda game.

IMO it has the best visual style of any game I have played and I have completed it fully (including a full model collection)

For me, its The Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time. To much good memories and great music to go with it.

Easily Shadow of The Colossus and ICO.

those two games i've always had them near the tv, just like looking at them , and when i play them i feel relaxed and fforget reality..

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Final Fantasy VIII, X, and Star Ocean Till End of Time are just some incredibly amazing games.
