Why not connect it via component in the bedroom (it supports 720P which is the typical resolution of 99% of HD console games) and use HDMI for the lounge?

because i bought an HD console to play HD games, not component!

Component is HD. It supports a resolution of 1280 by 720P which coincidentally is higher or identical to 99% of games released this generation. Composite on the other hand only supports SD and thats what currently comes with the Xbox 360.

1080P over component is supported on most HDTVs.  It is the AACS that restricts the 1080P output on protected content, blu-ray movies etc.

An Xbox 360 will support 1080P over component.

The only thing I can think of, and this probably isn't the case, but maybe the cable is HDMI 1.0 and the new slims will only work with HDMI 1.2 ?

nah thats not it since it works with the LG tv

Did you try updating the firmware of your TV (in case that's possible)?

I just did a quick google search and I found this: http://www.pakgamers.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-49821.html

Blind navigation is something like this but I'll have to confirm it on my 360 first. Hook up your TV and 360 via HDMI. Turn both of them ON. Select the HDMI port from TV remote that is connected to 360.

Don't touch the Xbox 360 Controller while doing so because we don't want to get things mixed up as we cant see. After turning ON,

> Press UP on your D-pad once.
> Then press RB once.
> Then press A.
> Again A.
> Again A.
> Now you're in HD settings. Here press down twice and then A.

I'll have to reconfirm it but try this in the meantime.

It seems like the same problem and the proposed solution seemed to have worked. I'll keep looking if it doesn't :) (i've got nothing better to do but to study for my last exam :P)

No problemo! I'm glad it worked and you're happy. Now get to enjoying the awesomeness of that 360!

So it was only a matter of wrong Xbox 360 settings?

Yes, but whats weirder is that i've already have it on 1080P when i was using the LG tv , it must have auto reverted back to "Optimal Resolution" when i switched the Bravia tv.
