It took Square-Enix an entire decade before they returned to the world of Parasite Eve, with the last game of the series being released in Japan way back in 1999. That's quite a long time to keep any series dormant, and surely even the most optimistic of fans had begun to lose hope. Will they have to endure that same long wait again once The 3rd Birthday is finally released? A tweeting Tetsuya Nomura suggests 'no'.
"In the case of a sequel can be made the next one will be a HD version."
It is interesting to note that earlier in the Twitter feed, director Hajime Tabata mentions that there had been a multiplatform engine made for The 3rd Birthday in the early stages of development. Higher ups had wanted the game released on the HD consoles, but relented when Tabata insisted the game be PlayStation Portable exclusive.

I am very eager to see Parasite Eve in HD, and I still can't wait for 3rd birthday on PSP to see how it shapes up after so long of no PE....
There is no dount in my mind that the new PE is bringing new ideas to the table, and I hope SE continues to do the same fro PE:HD and keep us all on the edge of our seats :P:P
it's the future of handheld
