I know, you want to know why I put a question mark in the title. Typically, when a big game goes gold, the publisher will send out an announcement declaring it’s done and ready for production, complete with horns blowing and angels descending from the heavens. Not in this case though. This time we find out through an Aussie interview piece, not Microsoft. According to an interview with Bungie executive producer Joseph Tung with The Sydney Morning Herald, the game is done.
Right away, the first question was "So, it’s done, right?" to which Tung responded "We went gold last night, so yeah, it’s pretty much in the can. It is a weight off my chest to know that we went gold. It was a little bit scary to leave on the tour before we’d actually got the rubber stamp."
Considering we are still a little over a month before the official launch, having the game 100% should be great for both Microsoft and Bungie as they begin to ramp up the inevitably massive media blitz that will surround what is said to be Bungie’s final creative romp through the Halo universe.
