Forums - Gaming - My trip to Gamestop

I walked into gamestop to trade some games.

I asked the employee about some Wii games and what feedback he has heard.

He said I have never played the wii and "don't know anything about the games but that they don't sell much".

He did know about the PS3 and 360 because he was bloviating to his non customer friends bout a few games.

Should I expect gamestop employees to know a little about the Wii or am I being overly dramatic.

I asked him if maybe he should know more about the products that are sold in the store and his reply is "I'm not going to lie about it I'm just not interested in the wii.

I should add that I noted an air of condensation in his attitude

1. He was probably a teen.

2. Why the hell are you doign the scam that is called trade-in at Gamestop, use Ebay.

3. Teenish gamers typically only do things that are perceived as cool, therefore only the HD systems matter.

4. Next time you want game advice of any kind, start a thread here. Far better responses than a typical Gamestop employee.

The guy was in his 20's and should know better. I'm sure the owner would not like the fact that I took my business elswhere.

My wife took my hand and walked me out of the store because I tend to talk off the cuff and I am better served measuring my comments.

There is a privately owned game store about 15 miles away who is getting my business from now on.

I will look into ebay also, thanks for the tip

wow.... that was.... rude....

if he didn't know about wii games he could have said so in a nicer way...

Using Ebay will always get you more for your 'trade' and will typically be less to purchase any used game as well.

Why should they know about something they aren't interested in? They just sell/trade the games and he did say that wii games aren't selling that much in their store. I bet there are a lot of employees at various retailers who don't know much about the products they are selling.

He's just uneducated and use Ebay or trade with friends.

If unsatisfied with a buisness in any way that irks you to such a degree, go somewhere else. The buisness you dislike won't get your money anymore, and a buisness more deserving will.

One of the basics of catipalism. :)

Also, add to your list Amazon along with eBay. Get quite a good amount on Amazon and buy for cheap. Waiting's the only sucky part...
