Forums - Sony - LttP: My time with Lair and Heavenly Sword

As I'd mentioned last week in another thread, I traded some old tech for a co-worker's unwanted PS3, so I spent most of the weekend downloading demos from the PSN. Heavenly Sword was easily the most eye-catching demo of the eight or so I tried, and to my surprise, my wife went out and bought it for me for my birthday. Having spent a couple hours before bed the past two nights playing it, I believe that it is a brilliantly presented game, though flawed.

There are some incredibly frustrating frame rate issues, the game play gets repetitive, and I haven't found any of the challenges to be terribly difficult. I'm through Chapter 3 and I think I've died twice -- both times I was able to replay and get through the checkpoint in question on the second try. The "puzzles" aren't difficult at all, either. In fact, the order in which objects are shown in the opening pan usually hints to exactly what you have to do. Any challenges in solving the puzzles is strictly from manipulating the SIXAXIS and using Aftertouch.

IMHO, Heavenly Sword will be a must buy at a discounted price ... around $35-$40'ish or less. I agree with rocketpig that the game is not long enough, and I do not see it having the replay value over the long haul, to justify a $60 price, though.
