Forums - Microsoft - Quick question about downloads on x360

I bought a 360s last week and I'm currently donwloading the 5+ gigabytes of the xbox original Psychonauts. The download is currently at 60% and I have to leave the house in about 20 minutes. There's only a "cancel" option but no "Pause" option for downloads.

If I cancel the download, can I resume it later or do I have to start the download all over again when I return?

Around the Network

I think you can enable auto turn off, when it's enabled, just turn your 360 off, the green light in the middle should flash every 5 seconds, it'll keep downloading.

To my knowledge anyway .....

Edit - DON'T sign out.

Thank you for your quick reply, Seece!

It's exactly as you said: I enabled "background download" in the system settings, turned off the console and now the green light flashes every few seconds to indicate the active download.

Love the system by the way, this afternoon I'll buy some of the (console) exclusives I want for the 360, such as ME 1, ME 2, Viva Pinata 2, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia or Halo Wars (the only Halo I'll ever play, as I don' like shooters but I love Ensemle Studios' games - R.I.P.).

Thank you again for your help and I'm off for lucnch. I'm already late, as always...

I'm pretty sure if you cancelled, that 60% would go by much more quickly than it did the first time anyway. At least that's the way it worked for me and the Halo: Reach beta, which took ridiculously long to download.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it though, I figured you would really like XBLA. I'm playing Tales of Vesperia atm and am really enjoying it.
