Forums - Microsoft - Sexy Ladies can't disguise Kinect Live demo fail

They do say that is auto configures based on the room size but if you cannot swing the cat then maybe not. They are doing these try before you buy sessions all across the states mostly at state fairs maybe you should swing along and maybe talk to one of the reps and give it a go, I think you have to book it or something via facebook. They tend mostly to be playing the Microsoft Kinect products though, do not recall ever seeing anyone playing the Dance Central game.

Kinect as seen by PS3 owners ...if you can pick at it   ...post it ... Did I mention the 360 was black and Shinny? Keeping Sigs obscure since 2007, Passed by the Sig police 5July10.

When the system is released in November, there are set to be 15 games available – most of which will be sports and fitness related.

Ubisoft have developed a game called Your Shape – Fitness Advanced which promises to knock the Wii Fit out of the market with its full body workouts and no bulky balance board.

Microsoft look like they’ve played a blinder here – but don’t take my word for it, go and try it for yourself.

Kinnect Rooms in London are on Russell Street just off Covent Garden market and will be open to the public from Saturday. For more details and to book your place, visit www.kinect.me The tour will also be travelling the country in the next few months. More details to follow

Everyone is aware that there is already a version of Ubisoft's Your Shape Fitness on the Wii, right?

http://www.fitsugar.com/Game-Review-Your-Shape-Wii-6127140

It's been available since November of last year.

It comes with a camera (doesn't use the Balance Board) that tracks and displays user movement and matches it against the proper form demonstrated by the in-game trainer.

Sound familiar?

I doubt the differences are great enough to hype Kinect as a product that offers an experience unlike any other.

Ubisoft basically just ported Your Shape Fitness for Kinect.

Chuckles... I think you will find that the Kinect version will be what the Wii version should of been but could never be.

Even if that's true will someone like my wife even care especially when she paid  only $30 for the  Wii version compared to $150 for Kinect?

Add 50$ more for the game itself...

I think so after all the Wii fit with a Balance board proved very successful and it did not come cheap. Your missus may be over the moon with her $30 version but she would be even more impressed with the Kinect version, your call ;)

Thats an assumption since kinect isn't even out yet so we don't even know if will work as well in your living room as it does on stage and it doesn't even do that well on stage, not to mention the whole years later and costs more, theres really no reason for the causual to buy kinect when the wii is out since price is more of a factor then technical capabilities with causals, and there is absolutely no reason for anyone besides a causal to buy it

So if you make an assumption based on my assumption does that cancel them out and then make mine fact?

what assumptions did I make?

You seem to me to be making the assumption it will not work in living rooms yet Microsoft have been taking this puppy around the US displaying in living room type situations for some time now. You are also making the assumption that no casuals will have a reason for procuring a Kinect device based on your reasoning. Whereas I am pretty sure casuals will have many reasons for waiting to buy it.

Where did I say it won't work in living rooms, I said we don't know, learn to read, and I never said casuals won't want to buy it, I said they won't buy it because it's expensive and they already have a wii, and if they don't have a wii they probably aren't interested at all

Whenever I see comments like this I read it as the following:

The market for the Wii is gone all of the possible casual gamers have already bought a Wii so not only will Move and Kinect be a failure with possible casual gamers, but the Wii will drop off like a rock as well.

Lets face it if the Wii still has a market for possible casual gamers then so does the PS3 with Move and 360 with Kinect.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

If MS includes sexy ladies with Kinect, I'l buy it even if it's faulty and I don't own a XB360.

lol but they still have time to fix these glitches. Unlike a lot of you, I don't hate Microsoft, I just don't like the 360.

I don't hate MS that's the thing why is it always assumed that is the case if you post anthing that shows ms product's in a bad light, i just hate people being misled that's all...

I know Kinect has its problems, and I think that is what you were trying to show. Not that you are a MS hater. Sorry about that.

Funny, I hate Microsoft, but I don't dislike many of their products, the only real shitty hardware that has a MS connection is actually the 360, they've always made solid hardware otherwise. Their software has a lot of bullshit in it but most larger software packages do as well, and Windows 7 isn't as shitty as that hell disaster of a piece of shit Vista, which has actual support for 64bit versions now.

Vista was shitty, though a bit better when Service Pack 2 came around. I know a lot of people who say they hate Microsoft, yet they have Windows 7, love home group, etc. I mean there is a reason why 92% of all com software in USA are Windows.

You misunderstood what I said, I'm saying not alot of people will probably buy kinect because it's expensive and they don't really have any games that wii doesn't already cover, hell wii even has a dance mini game that comes with a webcam, the only people who buy this are going to be people that buy into the hype or people who like to blow money on whatever
