Remember when Microsoft told you it had a "very special" Halo: Reach announcement lined-up for today? It's arrived - and it's perhaps more 'silly' than anything else.

Ready? The platform holder has assembled a UK celebrity 'Super Squad' to take on the best Halo players in the country come launch day.

It will be running competitions until mid-August to discover the UK's best Halo player, who will then lead this 'Super Squad' (we'll say it again - 'Super Squad') against the six next best players.

Who's in it, we hear you ask? Well, Rio Ferdinand, obviously. Jason-Bradbury-the-bald-one-from-The-Gadget-Show (his full name). And Jamelia. The attractive, formerly successful singer-... (here come the dreaded words) -turned-presenter.

They'll be more celebrities announced in the coming weeks. Our money's on that prat from N-Dubz.
