Valve and 2K Games have announced an agreement to power all PC versions of Mafia II with Steamworks features such as auto-updating, DLCs, stats and Steam Achievements. In addition, customers who pre-order the standard or Digital Deluxe Edition of Mafia II through select digital retailers, including Steam, will be given a free digital copy of the original Mafia to play right away.

Mafia 2 joined the increasing group of titles that are using Steamworks as it's DRM on Retail, of which coming soon are Civilization V, Brink, Kane & Lynch 2, Fallout: New Vegas and Darksiders!
