Forums - Microsoft - Final Fantasy XIII Japanese Xbox 360 Release Rumored

Achievement list appears at Xbox.com in Japanese.

Final Fantasy XIII launched in Western territories as a multiplatform title, but in Japan the game remains PS3-only.

Now seven months after release, there are rumors going around that the game's domestic PS3-exclusive status may be changing. At the heart of these rumors is an Achievement list that appears at Xbox.com in Japanese. You can see the list here (Xbox Live login required).

XNEWS, which bills itself as Japan's largest Xbox and Xbox 360 information site, reported on this rumor today, stating that in the past, nearly all games that have had their Japanese language Achievements discovered in advance of official release announcement were later given a release. Will the same hold true for Square Enix's prized RPG franchise?

A snippet from the list at Xbox.com.

SE have so much confidence in HD that they are releasing FFXIII in Japan for 360. Right now they are kicking themselves for announcing DQX for the Wii.

And you are basing this conclusion on what exactly?

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

If this is true, this can either mean they think that Final Fantasy is a big enough franchise that it will sell regardless of platform, region, or timing or that they are not very satisfied with the overall sales of FFXIII contrary their previous PR statements.

That would be a good idea to release it.
