Utada's CD bombed because of that damn Japaneesey song. I felt embarrassed just listening to it.

I like 90% of all of TM Revolution's songs. But I like most of the Gundam sound tracks and Nobuo Uematsu, he is the #1 composer of the 21st century for a reason. =]

Yeah, mad props to Miyavi too. Style-wise he reminds hide a lot. Obviously different, but he is really good. He had the balls to go from full-visual to almost-full-pop without a breeze. Rock rawk rock rock!

My favorite Japanese COMPOSER would have to be Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Cross, Xenosaga), but I'm not sure if he's done any recent work...

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

Around the Network

There are so many to choose from...

Onitsuka Chihiro - Infection - Very powerful voice with extremely well composed songs.

Yonekura Chihiro - Forever Gate/Eternal Door - Very active fast paced songs.

Kotoko - Agony - Fast paced, good rhythm.

Kajiura Yuki - A Song of Storm and Fire - Probably the best current Japanese composer around.  The vibrance found in her work easily eclipses that a lot of others even Kanno Yoko.

Two Mix - Love Revolution - Good group specializing in a lot of synthesized music that did a lot of Gundam music particularly Wing.

Chiba Saeko - Here We Stand In the Morning Dew - Great voice that can literally overpower the music (song composed by Kajiura Yuki).

So many great artists left unmentioned, yet so little time...
