Wow! And to think, there hasn't been any real price drop on the 360 in a couple of years. Microsoft has certainly played its cards right this year. This console generation is changing all the traditional aspects of a console cycle.

This.  Imagine the amount of price cut power they have now, too.  They could easily shave $100 off of the 360 standalone and $50 off the Kinect stand alone at any time in the next year.  If Nintendo or Sony try to make price reductions there is no way they can compete with MS next year.

I doubt the slim will have the same long term sales effects of the price cut. So I don't really see any millon selling weeks for the xbox this holiday.

DING...wrong again.

Mmmm can you feel the Anti-360-blocking-your-true-vision love? ;)  Why are you so down on Xbox all the time?  It's an amazingly successful product that if you included the revenue from XBL, makes Nintendo PS3 look anemic.  Lets not forget that software sales drive the hardware...even at double the consoles, Nintendo sells less software on the average than MS.

I cannot see how anyone would be unable to envision 1 if not multiple million weeks this holiday with all the WOW news for Xbox.  Heck without the massive and widespread stock shortages, god only knows that the true sales would have been...curses to the MS production analysts and their shortsightedness.

Except of coure if theres a price cut! OR I dunno, Kinect might actually sell well or something.

Well, it sold over 1 million last week. Let's see what it does this week.
