At most we'll see a $50 price cut this year from any of the companies. PS3 will not be at $200 this year.

huh, mabey Sony is trying to tell MS that they are perfectly willing to drop price.  

Rumors like this cripple PS3's sales - b/c people on the fence will just get the urge to keep waiting if the price will drop a C-note (which it won't but hey, all they need is doubt).

you didn't even watch the show so the only person spreading any rumors is yourself... he specifically says he saw the prices printed on a sheet... the rep told him that he wasn't sure what it was, but thought it was a typo... he shot it out there to see how people felt about it

Does sony seriously love losing money?  Well, it's not like it's going to happen anyway.

I can believe 249.99, but not 199.99 at this time, doesn't make that much sense to go that low. I already predicted that this fall we will see a 249.99 price drop, and 299.99 for the bigger HDD SKU, also a Move bundle for 349.99/399.99! Than next year before Christmas, we will see the PS3 hit its final mark of $199.99 and get crazy sales, where it will surpass 100 Million mark in just a couple years. Once the PS3 hits 200 bucks, it doesn't matter what Microsoft does, they lost at this point. Their best attempt was this Slim, which isn't doing them that much justice in sales to stave-off the PS3 barage.

If 199.99 happens this year, it will melt down the gaming industry, litterally. MS would see its 5M lead shrink to zero.

199 only in it's 4th year? this is sooo unlikely.Sony will never make money if they do that.Unless you plan on selling ps3's for 199 for the entire duration of the ps3 lifespan ( still won't be a profit.)
