I know what I think is hot. The problem is, I'm only one man. With a whole thread full of hotness, all of the hot legwork of finding pics of hot girls is cut out and I only have to look at one hot thread. Plus, I get to see what other people think is hot and that expands my idea of hotness and exposes me to new hot girls I may not have known about, otherwise.
