Forums - Gaming - Can you get free Rock Band/Guitar Hero songs?

well, these songs are heavily code protected to make sure people with low moral standards like yourself can't do that, but I'm not sure if it can or can't be done - google the info yourself

still, I know a relatively legal (compared to your approach) way to get more songs for less money: account sharing (best made with good friends you can trust -> real life friends)

then again if two of you "I don't want to pay for content" guys combine both of you might not buy anything, so maybe that won't help you either

low moral? wtf? Ive counted 80 songs I want.. thats $160 plus tax I'd have to pay! Any person with a brain wouldnt pay that much money for those songs. So how does that make me have low moral? I'd rather use that money to buy PS move plus a bunch of games and accesories, its called common sense. Just because you may not have any doesnt mean you need to go insulting me, your lucky i dont report.

Well, you know, what people that can't afford all of the songs they want would do is limit themselves to a certain amount they can afford/can justify. "I can't afford them so I want them for free" in todays society is seen as having lower than normal moral standards as acting upon this wish generally is a criminal offense.

You clarified in your op, that you would use the necessary means to obtain these songs for free, so I think it's not "insulting" to call you out for it, hence I'm not fearing a report, but I think you should, because on this site pirating isn't looked benevolent on.

I guess "common sense is not so common", for I thought paying for what you want to have was "common sense".

Why should I pay $2 a song that I already have on my Ipod and PS3? I love music, therefore it would be hard to eliminate some of the songs I want, since I WANT all 80 of them. So I've already spent $300 on iTunes songs, $400 for a PS3, and another $150 for Guitar Hero set or rockband set. And now I have to pay $2 to play the songs I already baught is considered as low moral?

You make no sense.. stop trying to de-rail the thread

you don't seem to realize that a song from iTunes and a song from RB/GH is sth. totally different - these RB/GH songs have way higher quality/bitrate and have individual streams for each instrument (which is why they are able to deactivate the instrument you are playing, if you miss a note)

and they have note charts, you know actually these people are trying to make a living by providing charts for songs

now, if you'd use "frets on fire" (freeware) on PC you'd probably be able to just use your iTunes songs (WMA/AAC) and dl free note charts users provided and play them with your PS3 guitar (I don't know if they added other Instruments to fof in the mean time) - it works, although the experience isn't on par with the real thing
