Forums - Microsoft - Square: MS unwilling to work on FFXIV 360 problems

In all of these stories, has S-E EVER said specifically what it is that MS won't budge on?

If so, can you provide a link?

I doubt many will care or notice... this game will fail dismally imo.

Fail dismally?

You do know that Final Fantasy XI is more successful than any FF game right? Including VII.

FFXI was pretty huge success indeed. Here is proof of that. 117 milj revenue last year and it is pretty old game. No wonder that they made XIV also online.

in kowenicki's defense  - i'm pretty sure he meant the game will fail on consoles.  it's cool and all that this game will be on the ps3 but let's face the facts....a vast majority of the players will be on the PC.

Based on the communities it is actually the flip side. The requirements are slightly high. Especially since alot of FFXI players are jumping ship and their PCs are dated. So they found it easier to get the PS3 version. But, it got delayed sadly.

Your full of it.

I work in the mmo scene and your statement is faaaar from the truth.

I dare you to toss up some community sites backing your ridiculous claim.

Not only that  I'm a avid ffonline player...alot of folks are excited about ff14..and none of them are going ""omg my pc is soo old must spend 300$ for a ps3 to play a heavily down graded and dumbed down version instead of spending 99$ for a new vid card" etc.

I get your like gaga over anything ff and ps3 but...you need to get your facts right.

There are many threads associated with just how disappointed people are that the PS3 version got delayed. People don't have the money to go out and buy new computers for 800

The PS3 is 300 dollars and will be able to run it at 720p fine. And a new graphics card is not the only thing needed for most people. CPU, GPU, Ram, and Video cards will be needed.

I'm glad that you are fortunate to have all the money in the world apparently, but not everyone has that style of luxury. and for reference, I DOUBT you work in the MMO scene....pal.

Sigh.

So now you take a small % of the(a) community *who already play it say on the ps2* and take that as the majority of the community is the flip side? Nope. Not at all. The user base is rather small for ffonline for those using the ps2/3 or 360.

(I'm sure there was many upset at the delay...but that wasn't the point)

"Especially since alot of FFXI players are jumping ship and their PCs are dated."

You can build a great gaming rig for about $300-500$. Thats buying everything new. And not reusing anything from the ''out-dated'' pc.

(If you need help or need to see for your self, then I have no problem informing you a bit)

As for your "and for reference, I DOUBT you work in the MMO scene....pal.''

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Think what you want BUT I can back it up.

And if you want me too..well...your going to get pwnd pretty hard.

They will likely change their tune. X360 needs more MMO games the library is a barren wasteland right now for MMO players.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

I think Sony just sort of assumed that the market for handhelds was pretty similar to the market for consoles and didn't see a problem with releasing the same types of games that can be found on the console. There's something about creating a portable experience that Nintendo seems to get, and Sony, for whatever reason, doesn't. I'm not saying that every game on the PSP needs to be something you can turn it on, play five minutes, and turn it off; but I am saying that most of the popular PSP titles are not like that. Sony hasn't really had a major new IP on the PSP either, while Nintendo has stuff like Professor Layton, Picross, Brain Age, Nintendogs, Cooking Mama, and Scribblenauts. Are all of those huge successes? No, but they are the type of stuff Sony needs to look at when they release their next handheld.

That being said, I agree with Trios_Zen that the PSP is too expensive. I can think of a few PSP titles I'd probably have a lot of fun playing, but the price does not justify me buying one, at least in my opinion. I might get a PSP eventually, when it's successor comes out and its price drops, but right now, the DS just has more games for me.

I think your in the wrong thread bud. :D haha

Dude seriously, my mom's laptop will run FFXIV and it was a $450 laptop. We all know laptop parts are shit compared to desktop parts and for $450 I could build a pretty decent desktop.
