I just checked Bungie.net, and there's some double XP thing going on. That probably explains the big numbers of people online.

its the ONE MIRRION TROOPZ tak fuji was talking about, after knowing their game was badly reviewed they went on halo
- Wasteland - The Mission.
Well, considering over a hundread thousand people on steam still play the various version of counter-strike every day I'm not surprised that halo 3 might be having a resurgence since a new halo game is coming out soon.

Ok that makes sense. The new servers seem to be way way better then the old ones...my uncle was downloading something and was taking up 90% of the bandwidth and I could still play Halo without it lagging hardly at all.
Oh and I was playing on the 10th.
But it seems to me the numbers weren't correct because all last night there were only about 14k people online and its never that low.
Thats what i love about the 360 console, a lot of people still play previous games, you can find tons of people still playing the first Left 4 Dead regularly. i was surprised to see many people still playing fable 2 lol
Sometimes on PSN i have to wait more than usual.
This is really cool. Halo always had a dedicated fan base so yeah.
