Forums - Microsoft - So how's the new Xbox 360?(Slim?)

I haven't really heard anything from it, so how are gamers taking it?I'm really interested buying it, but Elite is much cheaper as used..

Good stuff, bad stuff?

I want to do the trade in deal at Gamestop but they aren't taking anymore orders in my area.  Oh well, mine still works fine.

you won 't have rrod ever again and only that reason may triggered many people buying it also ti has a port for kinect so you won't need another plug if you are interested in kinect

Its amazing.  Mine runs so quiet that I can't even tell it's on (when game is installed).  Even when the disc is spinning it is much much quieter than the older models.  It doesn't get hot at all, either.  The only place I feel heat is that big vent on the side which means it is doing its job.

I like the added USB port and the new touch sensitive buttons and especially like the Optical output being built in instead of having to use the spot on the AV cables!

There really isn't much to dislike with the 360 redesign.  It's much more attractive, built in wireless N works great, and having the extra hard drive space is a huge bonus.  Not having to delete things off the hard drive to make room is nice.  It is so much quieter.  You barely even know its running.  The power brick is also much smaller.  Having the Kinect port, optical out, and extra USB ports are also nice features.

Some of these features should have been there in the first place, but at least Microsoft learned from their mistakes and really made a quality system.  Hopefully Microsoft uses what they have learned for their next system.

I am liking it so far. I had it on all night in my room watching Netflix last night and it didn't even heat my room, whereas the old clunky model would turn my room into a sauna within minutes. I like the sexy black glossy look it is sporting as well. Not to mention I got 12 times the harddrive space and finally got HDMI support. The PS3 style touch buttons for turning the console on and ejecting is pretty sweet. Being smaller with a smaller brick adapter, it's much easier to carry around, which is a big plus for me since I'm always moving it around between my room and the family room.

If you're like me and have had an old model, like 2005-2007, with a small HDD and no HDMI support, it might be worth the upgrade, if you can find a way to sell your old model. However, if you have one of the newer versions, like post 2007, with an 80 gig HDD, it's not worth upgrading.

its really nice i bought one before 2 days it looks beautiful performs much better than old one

Technically that is right but they never said the 360 S won't fail the same way the old one did, the only difference now is that it has a different way of notifying you, so now its a Red Dot of Death instead of a Red Ring of Death.

Other than that the 360 S is even more prone to killing your disc than the Original 360, with that being said just be careful you don't touch the 360 S when the disc is in motion and you should be fine.

On the bright side It's quieter, more energy efficient, and visually appealing, but honestly, if you already own a 360, you have no reason to get this.

its doing fine, thanks for worrying, now its sleeping for tommorow shes going to college, also she told me to give regards and said kiss them for me.

I haven't traded mine in and I probably will not,  I would love to have one though.   My neighbor bought one and its a real beauty.  Looks so much nicer, is much quieter, more usb ports, wireless N and a kinect port.  Not much more that a person really needs, other than a Blu-Ray player.  That would have been a nice addition.
