Forums - Microsoft - "Rumble is rudimentary" says MS Kudo Tsunoda

Rumble is rudimentary... but I don't see a superior replacement for it on the horizon.

So unless Kinect can project forcefields or something, it is a mark against Kinect, along with a lack of other tactile feedback.

So, Nintendo iz d0med?

On a different note, does anyone know if Move has rumble?

it does, some game(s)? actually use it as a gameplay mechanic.

Great idea: building an airzooka into Kinect! ( Prior Art! Now MS can't patent it anymore ).

rudimentary doesn't mean unnecessary or "last gen"... you could certainly call it primitive or imperfect though... it hasn't changed in over a decade

Well, if you read the article, it explains clearly that Konect basically brings the feedback idea to a new level, beyond rumble.

Yes, things change - they move forward. The Sixaxis moved backwards, by taking out technology present in the XBox and PS2. This option isn't being removed from the 360, controllers still have it of course.

I switch it off anyway, i have no need for it and it dosent improve my enjoyment of the game i'm playing. but i can appreciate that some people like it; so i cant understand why having the option of rumble is inferior to not having it at all?? and isnt the audio visual stuff just pre-recorded stuff; isnt that already in games??

It makes the game have such a better expierince. Everytime you turn a sharp cornor and use your brakes the controller rumbles certain ways. Everytime you shoot with a unique gun it has differnt rumbles, which draws me more into the game and gives it a better expierience.

I am

It might be weird, but I struggle to enjoy games without rumble. I didn't notice it with the Sixaxis, but when I got the Dualshock it was like a game changer. The 360 controller rumbles also really good, probably better than the Dualshock's.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

So does MS now agree with what Sony said in 2006 about rumble being a last-gen feature or are they happy they sued to stop Sony having rumble?

MS is acting a little schiztophrenic these days, dissing hardcorze stuff whilst praising the cazualz.

that thign was funny microsoft got out of they pay company, but they continue suing sony.
