Forums - Gaming - Developer's iconic Style : Something that a lot of people don't notice

have you ever seen a game and just by seeing it you'd know it was made by said developer? , yeah lots of people take these things for granted or just don't notice them , but here are some random pictures , also mention some of your favorite iconic styles , i am not talking about Art style, but rather a style in general, like the way they make their levels or the way they dress their characters.

For Japanese developers.

Sakaguchi

Notice the hair similarities and the Classical-Futuristic-Gothic level design

Nomura

Notice the Zippers and spikey hair and boots. and the flashy "Orb" filled Level design

Amano

Notice the "Wild" use of color and the "elegant" style with old cultural origins , and he never made any levels =[

Kojima

Badassery and Corny sexual jokes = Win!

among other things everyone know about

Ueda

JAYZUZ CANT FIND ANY GOOD SCREENSHOTS! , has a very Tribal influence in it and great use of lightning and ambience .. lots of it.

the only one I can truly say that I have noticed before is Sakaguchi's style, which is very well illustrated in the Last Story trailer

Thanks for pointing out the others though

I did not know male Japanese video game developers were so narcissistic.

I think it's wrong to attach these art styles to some of them people...

Sakaguchi, Miyamoto and Kojima aren't visual design artists after all.

Take Blue Dragon... a Sakaguchi game, with designs by Akira Toriyama.

Take Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.  2 Zelda games using 2 completely different styles.  But made by the same people, same producer.

You mention Sakaguchi and Amano as being sort of the same, yet Sakaguchi was not responsible for the looks of the Final Fantasy games he produced.  Amano (and Nomura) were responsible for that...

Either my own artistic background is preventing me from seeing what you're trying to convey, or there is something inherently flawed about your thread.

EDIT:  Also, the 2 pictures you have for Amano's work aren't even his work to begin with.

Either I don't see the point of this thread of yours, or my own artistic background is preventing me from seeing what you're trying to convey.

i didn't visual style for this reason, i don't mean character models, just their style of doign things.

Yes, their style.  Then how can you compare the styles of Lost Odyssey with the ones found in Blue Dragon, or Final Fantasy IX?  All of the characters in these games have hair?
