Forums - Microsoft - Bobby Kotick frustrated by the Xbox Live business model

Poor Bobby he doesn't understand he should be gratefull to MS to the point of ass kissing them because without X360 he would never get such sales for what is essentially one out of dozens of average shooters out there.

Exactly, he's so damn greedy.

Why are people defending XBL and MS? XBL users are getting shafted. It's just a modeled after GameSpy and the various other PC Gamer networks out there. There was also the issue that MS was pretty darn insistent that during the XBox that if you did multiplayer you were required to use Live. It wasn't an incentive it was pretty much a requirement to get the licenses. Then there was the model that MS was going to give companies a share of the subscription based on how much people played certain games.

If this is case. Then MS has pulled out of the money sharing. Is being really heavy handed in it's treatment of companies is just wrong. sigh. MS is just determined to screw PC gamers over.

Regardless of what people think of Bobby and his complaints of late. MS XBL is a ripoff. It should only charge for extras in the service.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

The only reason I bought a car was so that I could drive to the store and buy Call of Duty.  The only reason I eat is so that I can maintain enough strength to play Call of Duty.  The main reason I'm on VGChartz is so that I can track the sales of Call of Duty.  You guys are seriously underestimating the appeal of that brand.

Whoa, what are talking about? I doubt xbox live users feel shafted, most of us feel that it is among if not the best online service for games and matchmaking out there. Not to mention all of the other bells and whistles.

Moneysharing? I doubt ms shared any of THEIR profits with other companies, why would they? That would just be stupid unless it was the only way to make it work.

I much rather pay a few bucks a year for a complete and consistent online service, than what I may get for free elseware. Have you used xbox live? If not try out may change your opinion
