Gagne had a NTC and would only waive it for Tampa Bay - Holgrem had no choice but to accept whatever Yzerman offered, since he had to get rid of the $5.25 M cap hit.

It depends on how the Devils can rework the cap hit while still paying him what he wants. If they can reach an agreement there then I don't see why he wouldn't take it.

It's pretty clear that he wants to win, so the Islanders are out of the question :P, but the Kings are still a possibility IMO. But who knows, if I could choose any team other than the Canucks it would be a return to Atlanta.
