Forums - General - Just got back from The Last Airbender... NOOOOOOOOO

Oh, the pain. So much pain. If you ever enjoyed the original cartoon, please don't see this film. Not even on cable. Just don't. Turn it off. Youtube a couple of the fights, but even most of those weren't good. Just don't see it. Hope that Shyamalan gets fired and a competent director picks up Book 2, because the actors were mostly decent, but horribly directed. Please someone save this trilogy. Otherwise, stick to the cartoon.

To clarify: Even if you didn't see the show, this is a poor movie at best. The plot is horirbly paced, there are plodding and clumsy scenes of 2 minutes of dialog straight while you do nothing but stare at closeups of a character's face, and even the fights, which should have been the one thing not screwed up, were dull and lifeless.  This is not, in any way, a competent film. It's just even worse for those who saw the award-winning cartoon because they know what could have been.

Just read a review before seeing this post, didnt sound good >.>

Got a 6% on Rotten Tomato's

The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.

Ernest Hemmingway

T_T Yeah, it's getting terrible reviews. No way am I seeing this and tarnishing my love for the tv series.

Damn you M. Night Shyamalan

Edit: Something funny that I just remembered M. Night Shyamalan saying "I want this to be the next Star Wars" . XD!

Is it better or worse than DragonBall Evolution?

Don't really understand the hate on it.

For a adaption it's great.

And fyi...the show wasnt some epic either...it was fun but very very average at best.

Atleast this sticks with most of the stroy and feel...

some how this always happends were folks will say but Angy and crew wouldnt act like that or in the cartoon they did this...

Yeah. When i saw the trailers, i was wary. Very wary. And the reviews on rotten tomato's didn't help. I don't think i'm gonna see this.

The cartoon is great. Best off NIck. I feel so sorry for Nick.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

and lets say i thought the cartoon was worse than awful...would i like the movie then?  because the commercials for the movie seem interesting...but im hesitant because of the cartoon.

What?! Not epic?! .... watch this and then tell me that the TV series isn't epic >_> .

Warning: few spoilers if you haven't watched book 1 and 2

XD Oh, and lol at Sokka at the end.

Well there goes any hope of a future live action release of Full Metal Alchemist and Akira. I'm guessing that like Dragonball, this movie's gonna bomb and anime adaptions are gonna be a no go zone. Everyone saying the series was bad, screw you, most anime's wish they could have been as good or as successful as Avatar.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
