Forums - Microsoft - IGN: Molyneux speaks out about Milo & Kate

I think he did a fairly good job of getting his point across, and I don't think it will be taken personally. The sad truth about gamers as a group is that we have the communication skills of a six year old. Ideas like subte cues are lost on the likes of us. The same is true of the grey area maybe. For us it has to be either yes or no, because without that we will spin very elaborate scenarios to arrive at the answer that we want. Then get pissed if we do not get what we want.

Basically he had to be very blunt to remove any and all doubt. That Milo is a game that was and still is in development for the future, and that they do intend to release this game at a later date. I found the response to actually be refreshing. He basically said what we all know, but always seems to give gamers fits. That public relations doesn't have all the answers so they often wing stock answers in our direction.

Honestly Greenbug shouldn't take it too awfully hard. He made a mistake, and the record was corrected. Which actually saves him a whole lot of spinning to say I screwed up. Which is what public relations professionals probably hate to do. Imagine if someone at Sony had did this for their public relations staff earlier in the generation. Gamers wouldn't have had nearly so much to harp on about, and they wouldn't have spent months trying to ineptly recover their reputation.
