How many of you have heard of him? He was the bass player for a few bands, mostly the who. He was the greatest bass player in the world until his death in 2000. How many guitar/bass/old people players are on VGcharts?

He is awesome I love The Who, I'm getting a bass soon I don't know if I'll get it for Christmas but my parents promised me one so it'll come soon enough.

I sing, play bass, and play trumpet in The Poly Gröton Experience.

http://www.myspace.com/polygroton for our greatest smash hit of all time, "Beer, Bitches, and Barbecue!"

We never wrote a song about John Entwistle, but we did write "I Saw Pete Townsend Steal a Shirt From the Gap."  We played it at a bunch of shows but it never got recorded.  I'm hoping to find a video of it.

John Entwistle was amazing, his bass playing really expanded the bass' role in most later bands. I'm glad I got a chance to see the Who live before he died. Who's Next and Quadrophrenia are amazing albums. If you want to hear John Entwistle the solo artist, I'd recommend his King Biscut Flower Hour live recording, excellent album. Some other awesome bass players to check out are Geddy Lee (Rush), Flea (RHCP) and Victor Wooten.

I play Guitar, Bass and Wii. :)

OMG your so lucky, I never got to see him live. My cousin did, she said it was like no other concert she had been to.

Nice new bass players are always welcome into our world. I suggest you get an Ibanez to start with. Ibanez, Warwick, and Musicman are the number one companies when it comes to bass. Stay away from Fender, unless you have lots of money to toss around.
