I'm glad they did it in two parts since it is almost impossible to make this movie in one film unless you want a 5 hour movie. I really hope this movie does well. I think it will just because it's by far the most action packed book in the series which will allow more people to enjoy it.

I wouldn't mind the LotR route. If it's a good movie I can sit there for 3.5 hours to watch it
I've never read the books, was thinking about it, currently reading the Song of Ice and Fire books now
Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

I would highly recommend it, but I must warn you, the books were designed to "grow" alongside the readers. The first 2-3 books definitely cater to the middle school crowd, with the series gradually maturing from that point to a younger adult level with the final book.
When I reread them just prior to when the Deathly Hallows came out when I was 19, I found them to be fairly slow and simple up until the end of book three or so, but once you ge to the end of book four, you literally cannot put them down from then on. When I first started the series when I was 11 or so, I was captivated by every single book from the getgo.
It may be hard for an adult to get into the series fresh, but if you can put in the time to get through the earlier parts, it's definitely worth it!
And I agree with the people not interested in 3D. I have one perfect eye and one weak and incredibly nearsighted eye, so 3D with glasses is somewhat wasted on me. I'm hoping Nintendo's solution will work better.
Edit: Typo.
Looks good, kinda funny that they show you pretty much the final and most important moment in the trailer.
I hope it's good, last three were decent, not great, but at least they were an improvement over the sucking crap that Azkaban was...OotP was the best of those. I really hope they do the book justice, maybe by splitting the movies they'll be able to do that and not cut important parts of the book that make or break it (I'm looking at YOU, Azkaban)
