Forums - General - I love Netflix

Lets just hope netflix doesn't get greedy as the other movie rental businesses fail. I'm surprised netflix hasnt moved into the video game business as redbox has.

Yea, adding video games would be nice but the price plans for those options would be higher (of course).  If they could undercut gamefly with having 1 video game disc out at a time while having ability to instant stream and 1 dvd disc out at a time it would be game over for gamefly.

How much is it for one episode of Dexter on Xbox Live?

Same here, dude. I absolutely love Netflix on my PS3. I watched the entire season of Heroes through it :D

Not sure what you mean.  If you have Netflix subscription you can watch all the Dexter they have available on instant stream.  I am pretty sure they have first 3 seasons available on instant stream for Dexter.  You don't buy episodes/anything with Netflix you just have ability to view whatever they have on instant stream anytime while you have a Netflix subscription.

Oh ok. It's too bad we don't have it here in Canada.

Well you should be able to get instant stream on your console still but they probably couldn't ship you a disc out in mail.  I am not too sure about all this.  You would think you could least get instant streaming.  I'll have to check into this.

Only issue i have... they sometimes remove movies from streaming too... why?

Dunno.   Websites can be wierd like that and can region block.  I think you can get away with it in theory, for just the streaming.   Maybe not though.

Canada has netflix like programs... but i hear they all suck.

Not sure if they have any streaming either.

@Boutros, I did a little research.  I found most information on this forum page about issue with getting Netflix in Canada.  http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1088552

While you won't be able to get dvds sent to you by mail you can at least enjoy instant streaming (Netflix also gives you access to Starz movie channel movies).

Anyways, I'll copy and paste a few key things I took away from that forum about people in Canada trying to get Netflix.

"You can hide your IP address, but unless you have a credit card with a U.S. billing address you won't be able to sign up for Netflix. That was the only thing that stopped me."

then someone responded to him with

"This is apparently a violation of the Credit Card TOS, and if you contact your credit card company about this practice, they will contact the provider on your behalf and have it .. corrected.

I did this with XM Radio when i realized that the US service has more channels at the same price."

Apparently, it is harder to do with 360 (due to maybe live accounts) than PS3/Wii (you can also just stream from your pc).  You might want to read more into that forum maybe there are better tips on accomplishing it.  For 10 dollars a month you can get the instant stream and have access to a lot of movies / tv shows still not a bad deal even though you wouldn't be able to get disc shipped to you.

Thanks! I'll have to try it on my PS3. I heard the PSN video store is coming soon in Canada but Netflix seems like a much better deal.
