How come I don't see people argue that a multi-platform game has the best graphics?  Wait, arguing that wouldn't help in the fanboy wars.

Personally, I thing Rage is going to be HARD to top when it comes out, on the graphics front.  And sorry, that is a multiplatform title.

And the OP isn't getting hammered? Most here is calling him out because he's trying to pin the title based on a few scans with low quality images. 

It looks nice. However, it is far from the "graphics king", even if we were to limit ourselves to consoles and disregard PC. And like others have said, a few low quality scans isn't good for a comparison, although I'd think the game would look better rather than worse in motion than what we see here. 

or these could be target renders like the early FF XIII shots and it could end up looking worse lol, but yea when they do show it properly (hopefully at TGS) we will be able to judge how good it really looks. I expect it to look significantly better than FF XIII given the extra dev time.

But then again these are the people that say they would need 10-30 years to remake FF VII so who knows lol.

Rage will be good, Crysis will be good, KZ3 in 3D will be good, probably SW:TFU 2 will be good, that 2D cartoon game will be good, ... lots of good graphics comming.

Actually, that was Wada and Kitase speaking. Nomura and the KH team are pretty much one of the few reliable dev teams on S-E this days, the other being Yuji Horii and Akira Toriyama.

Plus, they don't focus on a single game at a time, as they're were doing KH:BBS and KH:358/2 days at the same time that Versus was still in dev, and currently are working on the dev for KH RE: Coded and KH 3DS.

I wonder what you mean by graphics. Do you mean technically? Then I'm by no means an expert but it's probably the best looking game I've seen. Style-wise, it's very real world looking so far (they could still surprise me) and that doesn't impress me. Simple reason is that I don't think it's creative.

I much prefer imaginative worlds, even if they have realistic textures. Like in FFX, macalania woods, the moonflow, Guadosalam (well especially the Farplane), the temples... These are areas I really enjoyed in game. Or Lost Odyssey with its cities, they're a mix of magic and technology, the building designs, everything in it looks fantastic. I don't care if it's realistic, cel shaded or anime looking, as long as the design is imaginative, special and/or fantasy-looking.

So the graphics in that sense, don't make me want to call it the graphics king. I haven't seen anything that makes me go "wow, I can't wait to be immersed in this world" yet.

Didnt gameplay images of FFXIII such compared to the CGI promotial images and trailers? So youd think it would be the same for this

ff versus will set the new graphical standards, but really should we all be doubting SE who already bought us FF XIII that was the one of the prettiest game to be made
