How about this analogy.

The PS3 is a Lancer Evolution and the 360 is a WRX because:

• They are both over-rated by their respective fans.
• Both looked down upon by 'real sports car owners'
• Both designed to relatively similar design parameters.
• Arguments about which is better between the two are just as retarded.

@Squilliam, that was possibly the most generalized blanket statement I've read here in a while.  Also heavily based in your opinion, yet completely lacking the words "in my opinion."

Now I wouldn't care but I've been warned by mods for doing much less than that.  And I somehow predict no one says a word to you about it.

I don't believe I said anything untrue because in order:

• Impartiality is hard to find, just ask 'which console should I buy'.
• Pc gamers can look down upon Xbox 360/PS3 gamers especially when they start graphics whoring,
• Very similar design, almost like they were designed by different teams in the same company.
• Explains itself.

When it struck me that you had made a thread like this, the force of the surprise blew me out of my apartment window.

I live on the eighteenth floor.

I had to climb back up the side of the building because I didn't have my keys in my pocket.

It was worth it.

And it's a pretty decent analogy all told.

@Squilliam, I know.  Its obviously impossible to not find impartial people.  But I thought the statement about both systems being overrated, that just clearly depends on who you ask.  I don't think the 360 is overrated, I think its one of the best systems I've ever owned.  I would have been able to call the PS3 overrated at some early point in its life span but now I look at the game library and there is lots there to be excited for, and I say that as someone who might never even own one. But it clearly comes down to personal opinion.

Also, PC gamers look down on everyone, including other PC owners based on their system specs.  I've spent a good portion of my life being a PC gamer so I'm well aware of this.  I am not really a PC gamer now but I do plan on getting a new machine by the time Diablo 3 comes out. Either way at least 50 percent of my PC gaming experience comes down to, this doesn't work, need a patch, still doesn't work, need a new graphics driver, now the online wont work, okay need to tweak router settings and pray at that point it works and runs at a decent clip.

Of course I'm not downing PC gamers, just saying for some gamers, the hassle free nature of the consoles appeals greatly to me.

Anyway, I shouldn't have singled you out.  I was more trying to make the point that when I say something people don't agree with I get called a troll.  It seems to depend on your personal standing on this website when it comes to what is allowed and what is frowned upon.

No I posted first with something from another site to prevent someone else posting in from a fanboy perspective - for example with a title likle PS3 is a Ferrari and 360 is a Toyota or something similar.
