PS3, I'll be the most honest I can be: you're a hypocrit and you represent what's wrong with the typical USA citizen - the arrogancy, the idea that they're far more superior than people from other countries in every possible way, in this case, sports.
First of all, you accuse the people who actually like soccer to be biased. On the other hand, you praise the people who share your oppinion and say they're "unbiased". Ironically, that makes you the most biased person on this thread. Well, that and the fact that you created this thread just to flame, there is no way no one will change your opinion 'cause you won't lift your ass of the couch and actually try to play football without keeping in mind "I must hate this sport".
Second of all, no talent required? HA! I'm willing to bet with with you, you can't do 1/10 of the stuff I can do with a ball. I'm not even exagerating and I'm not that good. Besides, if it's that easy, why don't you just come to Europe, play for Real Madrid and win millions per month?
Third of all, watch true football from other countries, like England, Spain, or better yet, watch the World Cup, things are starting to heat up. USA's football is still very... well, the best word for it is amateur. Give it some years.
If it looks boring for you, it's because you either don't have any idea of what's going on, and therefor your opinion is based on ignorance, or if both teams have too much to lose, and therefor they must be cautious. Just because it's an universal sport... I'm sorry, I can't even find a good word to describe your ignorance! A universal sport is something that men, women, children, EVERYONE can enjoy. It's something everyone can play and have fun with. It's something everyone from any place of the world can play if they have a ball. Of course that, in order to be one of the idols that play in big clubs, you can't just decide you want to be a football player - even tho dedication is a great step forward, you need skills such as strengh, speed, agility, inteligence, experience (so you can understand the opponent's tactic), technic, and also, be just as strong mentally. Football is unique.
In other words, this thread is a failed attempt to bash football and its fans.

So the typical American thinks they're better in every way than people from other countries? I think you're confusing a small minority with the majority.
Ok I exagerated a little bit about the typical American, I apologise for that.
And if we're going by the World Cup, the U.S. finished top of Group C over England. So how exactly does England play "true" football while America is amateur? How is that possible when England tied the U.S. and the U.S. finished top of the group? It's almost....CONTRADICTORY.
So? Portugal has reached the finals on 2004 EC, semi-finals on 2006 WC, etc. Portugal has many great players playing in England, Spain, Italy, etc, because those are the most important leagues of the world. That surely doesn't make us have one of the best championships of the world. It just means that there are some great Portuguese players. Otherwise, according to your theory, 4 years ago, we (Portugal) beat England twice, therefor our league was better... HA! There are three good clubs in Portugal, the rest is very unreliable. Mostly South American players, some African players, and some Eastern Europe players playing in Portugal. I can't think of one English player on our championship. A team performance on the World Cup or the Qualifyings, or better yet, the players of that team, don't necessarily reflect the quality of their country's league.
The U.S. team has been playing for many, many decades, and even beat England 60 years ago. The team doesn't need a couple of years. It's a good team that catches a lot of crap because the country it comes from doesn't claim Soccer/Football as its most loved sport.
NOT THE USA TEAM, THE LEAGUE!! >_> How did you interpretate me that way? It wouldn't make any sense. If you give time for the league, maybe football will gain more supporters, become more important, and eventually more stars will play in the US league. And now everything makes more sense... oh well, ignore the previous text.
"Third of all, watch true football from other countries, like England, Spain, or better yet, watch the World Cup, things are starting to heat up." -> At first I refered to England and Spain's League, and then I refered to the World Cup. Therefor, I wasn't refering to England's team at first. Get it?
And just for the record, the USA deserved to top the group.
It doesn't have to be. I'm an American and it's my favorite sport, but I don't get mad when other people say they hate it. It's just preference.
Good to see that atitude...
In fact, just shut up.
... and that was uncalled for. You said you were sleepy right? Go to bed, I hate to get misinterpretated with arrogance.
