Sorry! I assumed anybody reading this thread would've have beaten the first game.

Just added a video for "Ionic Vortex"...looks like a pretty awesome power.

makingmusic476 said: EDIT (by insomniac): Spoilers, for those of you who haven't beaten the first game. I finally beat Infamous last night! The ending was a big "holy shit!" moment for me. Arguably the best ending I've experienced in any game, and it totally made up for the game's earlier weak points. It's something I will never forget, I'll say that. I really have to applaud Sucker Punch on Infamous' narrative. It was an above average video game story that avoided most video game cliches, and it finished with a total mindfuck of an ending. And somehow they managed to pull this off without making things all crazy and convoluted like MGS/FF. The voice acting was also really good, suprisingly so given the game's general presentation was rather lackluster (cutscenes aside). I really loved the Voice of Survival in particular. But man, I was really pissed when I realized you couldn't save Trish, no matter which option you chose. In the end I understand why they did it, but it was still a dick move, imo. Anywho, I am now really stoked for Infamous 2. It's already apparent the presenrarion has been much improved, with Sucker Punch going with a more colorful style, somethign they're much better at than the whole grim/grey look. Aside from the already apparent graphical leap (draw distance and LOD is something that needs particular attention, imo), they just need to iron out the controls a bit more. Too many times in Infamous I had issues making a specific leap, or dropping down to a ledge. And often I just got stuck on random objects. Working on a "free climb" system ala Uncharted 2 would really help here. Edit: Oh yeah. I'm only missing two blast shards. FML. |
There are maps of the blast shards out there. Some come complete with in game images of the shards. I found them very helpful for finding that last shard (way out on a broken dock). And the ending is definitely a mindfuck. Glad you finished it; the story in inFamous is really awesome.
I can't wait for inFamous 2. My biggest worry is that the story won't be as good as in the first. I have really high expectations for the story in this one.

I got lucky and found the last two shards yesterday. Overall I spent maybe an hour past finishing the game finding the rest of the shards. Wasn't much work at all.
That's what I get for being thorough while playing. I spammed. L3 the whole time whlie doing missions, so there wasn't a single spot across the city I hadn't covered. The last two shards were on pillars sticking up out in the water.

Holy mother of god ! Ammataudu !
I'll be updating this with IGN's preview and some other screens ASAP.
Never played the first one but will definitely be getting this. The first one sounds like a good game from what I've heard.
Fuck me!
I just completed InFAMOUS
SPOILERS AHEAD
Alright so first off =
I played the game as an evil bitch. I became Infamous and I let Trish die. I then activated the sphere (damn the powers you got, i jizz'd) and had the showdown with Kessler.
KESSLER WAS ME FROM THE FUTURE. Dude I didn't even see that coming. I suspected he was my father or some shit LOL. That was fucking nuts and I had goosbumps all the way through that battle. This game is REALLY underrated! True AAA game in my honest opinion.
Now I have a save before and im gonna choose to destroy the sphere. My only question is:
How many endings are there? Does letting Trish live or die even matter?
Trish dies - You destroy sphere = Ultimate hero
Trish Lives - You destroy sphere = Hero
Trish dies - You use the sphere = Villain
Trish Lives - You use the sphere = Ultimate villain?
Or is it just Activate sphere / use sphere that gives you different endings? Man this game is crazy!

"But man, I was really pissed when I realized you couldn't save Trish, no matter which option you chose. In the end I understand why they did it, but it was still a dick move, imo."
WHAT!? YOU COULDNT SAVE HER?! I just climbed on that building and she died. Maybe you can't shoot her from down. Explains it.. OH yeah! it makes sense but THATS A DICK MOVE! Right.. guess that answeres my questions XD.

EDIT:
Just saw the good/hero ending. Damn.. going out as evil/villain was far more satisfying. The game is called Infamous for a reason XD!
Awesome, no regrets on the decisions I made then xD.
Can someone answer one question though?
On inFAMOUS 2, Is there a karma system? What if I ended the game as a villain, am I gonna be a hero when the game starts? That has me confused a tad :(.
