Forums - Microsoft - The reality of Kinect

lmao, both pics are brilliant

$150 price tag is the latest I read. I will not buy it unless it has some must have games attached to it. Furthermore, I don't see why Microsoft priced it so high considering for only $50 more one can buy a Wii and have access to a full category of proven, fun party and casual games.

So if a casual consumer purchases this and the new Xbox 360 slim, they are throwing down at least $450. That extra $250 is worth 6 Wii games.

Microsoft better have a bundle with a few games, then again, I don't see this taking off with the Wii firmly established for the casual gamer market the Kinect and Move are aiming to penetrate.

LMAO

Will it be like trying to call a credit card company.... and never talking to a human?

I've never seen a voice command system of any kind work perfectly.  If MS gets this part down then that alone will be a technological advancement of HUGE proportions for anything.  I've seen voice stuff that sucks and laugh at a friend who has problems in his truck with the Ford talking deal.

Even though I only played the demo and not the full game, the voice commands in Endwar seemed to work great...

Really?  My cheap ass Kia works flawlessly and my phone is amazing at it's voice to text.  I've used it on the road to send text messages.  If MS can't get it to work right then that would be a much bigger surprise.

That picture reminds me of trying to call the power company when the lights go out.

Sometimes voice recognition works  for me, other times it does not.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Of course it will not work, he didn't say "xbox" before each command!

XBox says... touch your nose!

Ok, I now see a Simon Says game coming to Kinect in 2011!
