Forums - Microsoft - Is the New 360 really Slim?

So is there any word on MS having some sort of way to transfer data from the old clunky HDD to this one? I'm pondering picking one up (my old 360 is loud and heats of my room like a sauna), but under two conditions:

1. it must be $250 or less, and 2. there is some way to transfer my data. I did some research on amazon, and between selling my old 360 and my wi fi adapter, I could make a good $180. So that covers a good portion of the cost right there.

They have an adaptor you can buy for $14.99

It's not supposed to be slim, it's the media that gave it that name.

I like the new model.  The best way to get rid of the RRoD problem was to simply get rid of the red rings altogether. lol

I figured the new release was to put it on par with the other systems considering a lot of people I know really complained about no built in Wi-Fi and I'm glad to see they have it included in this new model.  I think that's important on any system and was glad that Nintendo had it instead of only a wired connection.

Wonder if any parents will pick it up with it looking black and nice like the PS3 now.  Now all 3 systems are beautiful and black.

Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.

Currently playing...

I think in time we're just going to call it the Xbox 360 ...

Lets not forget that the GPU and CPU have been combined into one chip.

Like pizza flavoured chips. What a shame that pizza flavour more than pizza tastes like burned tomato, burned oregano and glutamate.

Hmm well that's good. Now I just have to wait for it to drop to $250, hopefully during the Kinect launch to try to push more consoles. I can't justify spending $300 on a console I already own, even if I can make over half the money back by selling my old one.

If your warranty is still valid, why don't you wait for old stocks to be depleted, then make your old XB360 RRoD and get a new one as replacement?
