already the xperia10 being the best selling DOCOMO smart phone sales wise and just so happen's to be  an android Smart phone.

and the Xperia10 already has the Playstation software stack in the phone.

Now Sony could position the PSP as the gaming platform for the Android OS just like Windows OS is for the PC.

but no sony could not be doing that..the PSP no matter what is no longer Viable because Nintendo is releasing a Hand Held...lol

Depends what you mean by "slamming the Wii." If they had some legitimate concerns, maybe not. Either way, hindsight tells us they were wrong. Why not give an example?

The fact that you're pinning down the PSP2 to be a smart phone highlights the reason everyone says PSP2 is no longer viable - because it cannot compete with the 3DS. They've likely just locked most of PSP's old market down. I wouldn't go so far as to say a PSP2 would be unprofitable, but it may not be worth the ROI, so unless they have some crazy new idea up their sleeve, Sony would be better off focusing their efforts on the home console front.

As for Sony standing no chance against Apple (making a smartphone), that viewpoint really has nothing to do with this forum. Apple is the top dog nowadays, people go so far as to say they're taking over Nintendo's market.

If they go the PSPhone route, then that means there won't be a PSP2. Sony will have retreated and compete more with Apple than Nintendo.

I don't think it's trolling to say that Sony has some tough times ahead, because they do. They have to change their entire business model, because in the past few years it has been hard for them to make profits off of gaming.

Well, that's certainly true. A lot of the members here don't like the PSP in general, including Sony fans. They would rather see Sony devoting all those resources to the PS3 and PS4 (whenever it launches) instead of going up against Nintendo's 3DS and/or Apple which is perceived to be an uphill battle.

There has been a lot of hostility towards Nintendo in the past few years (which pretty much is the entirety of this forum's existence). "Nintendo is ruining gaming", "I'll have to go back to PC gaming in case Nintendo's way will be adopted by the other companies", "These aren't even games", "A real gamer plays the real games and they certainly aren't on Nintendo systems", "You know something is wrong in the world when a shitty game like Mario Kart Wii outsells GTA IV".

The rise of Nintendo also brought some sort of racism with it and gamers were divided into two groups: the "casuals" and the "hardcore". The former term really only was a nice way to call people retards who have no clue about what a quality game is, in other words those people who primarily played Wii and DS.

Ever since Sony failed to put an end to Nintendo's dominance in the handheld market, certain folks are eager to proclaim that Apple will ultimately destroy Nintendo and bring an end to the dedicated gaming handheld.

Every system got a lot of hate at one point or another. Learn to live with it. I do it by making fun of those people without them realizing that I do just that. At other times I just lump all of their fantastic arguments in one gigantic post for the hilarity.

No, for the moment Sony should just divert those resources to make PS3/PSN games. Once it's clear that a PS4 is not going to be worth it they can become an exclusive third party developer for all Nintendo platforms.

No, that doesn't make it right. But you have to accept that people want to talk about these possibilities. Sometimes out of pure interest, but of course it also happens that people start such threads with intentions that aren't innocent or for the sake of conflict. That happens on all multiplatform gaming forums on the internet, at least I am pretty sure that that is the case.

The mods are usually doing a good job at locking threads that are out of line. I think the reason why it's gotten bad during the past few days is that for one, E3 brings a lot of news and therefore stuff to talk about and two, some of the staff is live at E3 which means that the number of mods that are online at any given time is lower than usual.

but that's the thing it's not just about E3 and people being bored or what ever. it's just This stupid vendetta crap attitude that is just uncalled for in a multiplatform forum.

it does nothting but stir negative attitude toward the forum. people are going to see this site as one big Joke.
