First off the most important announcement for me was Portal 2 coming to PS3!
Gabe Newell joining the Sony press conference was definitely a shock akin to Hideo Kojima appearing at Microsoft's last year.
I believe Valve want to develop for PS3 for a two key reasons:
1. The install base is large enough that they would effectively be losing 50% of their market share if they did not. (Yes I know according to VGChartz 360 has 5m more consoles sold... also some will own both 360 & PS3)
2. Steam on PS3. This has to be the most intriguing news I heard yesterday but we don't know enough information to understand what impact this will have.
Perhaps Steam on PS3 only means for Valve games purchased on PS3 the game will be able to connect to Steam and obtain updates etc. However, what if you could access Steam directly from an icon in the XMB and download games directly from your Steam account which would run on your PS3 or PSP as well as your PC or Mac?
