Forums - Gaming - Graphical comparison: Naked Sample 3D vs Snake eater

I still prefer the original PS2 but that looks amazing on 3DS.  Reminds me of MGS5 on PSP

3DS has to render two images at the same time, right?

So that alone makes it much more powerful. I don't care though... ju.st look at that video from this thread, it's unbelievably good - especially the title part

3DS looks sharper, oddly enough, but the PS2 environments look more detailed.

Looking at the bridge (and the normal mapping on the trees) scene I'm willing to argue this point. There just seems to be less thick grass in these shots, for some reason. The flowers look just as good or better.

Isn't the 3DS version still in development, too?  It's only going to look better!

Man I hate to be the one ot say this but this probably won't be released. This is Kojima dicking around with the hardware to see what it can do. Whatever Metal Gear hits, it will probably be all-new.

Yeah, I believe that too. Which is unfortunate, this is the best MGS.

PS2 version uses post-processing blur to smooth textures and hide jaggies too btw.  the 3DS version renders everything twice at slightly different angels, so hardware wise it'd be equivalent to PS2 running the game in splitscreen (in which is it probably would actually look like Peace Walker).

Mind you, these are just launch titles.

A few years down the line, when people are accustomed to the tech, we can see wonders. And hopefully more old school remakes. FF5 through 9 please lol

Lol, can you imagine the meltdowns if SE announced a 3DS FF7 remake? XD

3ds Version looks ridiculously good for handheld, it's about on par with Peace Walker.

But let's not kid ourselves here, PS2 version is much smoother with zero aliasing.
