Yet another PS Move thread bombarded by the Wii fanbase.
It's getting tiresome now...

Just don't claim that Sony didn't copy Nintendo. It's painfully obvious they did; now, there's no fault in that, many companies do that, it's business. As I said, give credit where's due.

There is a distinct difference when you word it .."Sony copied Nintendo". Sony obviously took Nintendo's success of motion controls and definitely ripped out the page of their book or copied them if you will. With that being said, Sony had motion controls and ideas for motion controls (Very similar in format to how they are today) every bit as early (If not before) Nintendo did. They just weren't willing to take the calculated risk.
Remember though, Sony and Nintendo were at completely different spectrums of the game industry as this generation began. Nintendo was reeling after two very poor console performances and was looking down the gun barrell of an Xbox360 possibly taking the #2 spot. They literally had nothing to lose. Sony had everything to lose.
Sony did not copy technology wise. (And this is why I think Sony fans will get defensive). Sony is totally guilty of not going into the generation full speed ahead with motion controls however and 'copying them' now. This isn't unlike many corporations. When you spend billions of dollars in R&D and designing a console, you can't risk losing your assumed momentum because of a control scheme. You keep your options open (Which they did) and keep going with what works. You don't shoot yourself in the foot.
But you really think that was a bad choice? After the wild success of the PS2, Sony was pinned down for basically a PS2 Part II. They had to at the very least provide their core PS2 fanbase with the same options the PS2 provided.
