Forums - Sony - Gran Turismo 5 "Most Anticipated Game of The Decade" Says Sony

The issue here is that Gran Turismo caters more towards car enthusiasts than hardcore gamers, I'd wager.

It's kinda like Madden.  In the US, everybody knows a guy that only plays Madden.  I know a couple of people that are the exact same way with Gran Turismo, and I'm sure in Europe you'll find something similar, if not far more prevalent.

Many of these people are also the type of people that'll pick up a console later in its lifecycle, which leads to long legs for something like GT.  Kinda like how Madden was still selling millions on ps2 as late as 2008.

He may be correct... but 5 years "in the oven" could get you that title.

But if it'shype they mean, nothing compares to the hype Killzone 2 got

It was the time I joined VGchartz and I remember it was unbearable!

There has been much more hype before Killzone 2.

I still remember how every major site in 2007 was filled with endless threads about Halo 3. And September 2007 was just filled with Halo talk

"announcements about most anticipated GAMES of the decade"

That's plural. It means GT5 is among the most anticipated games of the decade, which it is.
