I see a BIG problem for Kinect right now.

They showed nothing about Kinect that will support the existing owners of Xbox 360s. No Halo or Gear support for Kinect. So there isn't a big incentive for these people to get it.

If the Kinect costs say $150, that will bring the total price to $450. No way in hell are you going to get many people to buy in at that price when the Wii costs $250 less.

The games for core gamers will take longer to make.  It's a little unreasonable to expect core games to be developed using a completely new control paradigm in one year or even a year and a half,

In Wii's first year and a half, Nintendo delivered...

  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Excite Truck
  • Super Paper Mario
  • Pokemon Battle Revolution
  • Mario Strikers: Charged
  • Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
  • BWii: Batallion Wars II
  • Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast
  • Link's Crossbow Training
  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  • Mario Kart Wii

...and almost all of them were present at E3 2006.  This in addition to new casual fare (Wii Sports, Wii Play, Endless Ocean, Wii Fit) and old adapted casual fare (Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree, Mario Party 8).

they had some nice stuff there....but it seems like there was a lot that wasnt there.  for example... no xbla stuff...practically nothing from rare...rare can work on multiple projects so there should be more from them.   it just seems that they should have been able to do a conference at least twice as long.

This!  Hopefully they just used the conference for their central focus, and there are more games they've got to announce throughout the conference.

I didn't see most of it, but it doesn't sound like I missed much. No megatons to be found here. Will probably wind up being the worst of the three.

I could see Nintendo taking it this year with Zelda reveal, rumored Donkey Kong revival and the 3DS. I just hope they don't spend too much time talking about Wii Party. I have a feeling Sony will be lacking in megatons too.

There will be Megatons, but they've all pretty much been leaked by now, except for Resistance 3, which will not be a shocker.

Well I'm going to watch the first half of MS press conference soon, I think I got it DVR'd.. hopefully it'll be much better than the terrible second half I caught online. I'm excited about the Halo: Reach and Gears 3 footage. I'm just completely stunned that MS didn't announce A SINGLE new game that wasn't some crappy Kinetic shovelware. Isn't one of the major points of E3 to announce NEW software?

I think for all of the households that ALREADY have an Xbox, odds are good that if there's a daughter/wife/grandmother in the house, Kinect would be a likely purchase.

For all those households without out one, no. Assuming the Kinect kits are $150 on top of a $300 console, no. Everyone will not be buying this. That is simply not accessible enough. If that's the pricing scenario, most of those with casual interest who said "yes, I'd like to play that!" will end up saying "no, I won't pay that much."

I think the demographic for the 360 is the 18-30 male, which is less likely to have a daughter/wife/grandmother in the house.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

lol people have to be joking"microsoft won e3"?? If sony nor nintendo top that underwhelming show 2010 e3 is a flop. They didnt show any games that would make a causal gamer pick kinect over the wii. The only hardcore games they showed were multi platform and gow and halo reach and i had so much interest in fable 3 but that demo was horrible. I mean the espn thing is pretty cool but making all your xbox interface voice activated and motion sensing isn't very amazing. Its like voice recognition on your cell phone, you play around with it in the beginning than you never use it again. While watching the chick do the kick boxing you clearly see how much kinect lagged behind her movements. What really gets me is where was the kinect intergation with HD games like halo reach or alan wake i didnt care about the wii sports.I dont get how people are saying this new xbox 360 at the same price point of the current ps3 will cause trouble, anyone with half a mind can see the ps3 still has more hardware and features in the current console. All this is my option but really?

I also found the pricing of the new 360 really odd.

Everybody expected a price cut, but they simply removed a few of the biggest disadvantages the 360 has when compared to the PS3 (noise, missing WiFi, high failure rate, external power supply) and sell it for the same price as the PS3? Do they really expect to stop PS3 catching up with this?

Oh yes, I forget that new 360 has larger hard drive. But actually I have never heard of anyone saying 120GB just isn't enough. And using 250gb instead of 120gb hdds is just about 5 euro price difference.

Gamestop does have a habit of just making stuff up to start getting preorders, though.  So this is probably fake.

Damn it, I want to want Kinect, it looks awesome, but it doesn't have the games for me. Your Shape looked good, but it's a fitness app. That dance thing looked good, but unless there is partner dancing, it's a no-go. The rest just looked kind of interesting. Give me something awesome!

There is multiplayer dance videos showing 3 dancers together. Gametrailers.
