I was playing my Xbox, and about an hour in it showed the infamous red lights and shut itself down. I touched it and it was hot as hell, so I waited a while before using it again and it was ok.

Is this a sign of things  to come? is my xbox doomed? has this happened to some of you?

The same thing happened to me. Although my 360 was never used more than 4 straight hours with a weekly average of 15 hours, after 2 years of purchase it showed me the lights.

I thought that was it but after a reasonable resting time it would work again but not for long.

So I mailed it to MS to take over.

 I guess my xbox is pretty much screwed. Well, I bought Insurance for it so its all gravy.
